Safety is our way of doing business, plain and simple.
At Reco, we believe that no one needs to get hurt in order to do their job, and safety is every ones responsibility.
It is our employees obligation to work in a safe manner, and to inform others if they notice anything unsafe.
- What could go Wrong ?
- How could it Affect Me?
- How Likely is it to Happen?
- and What can I Do About it?
These are not just words on a page, but the most basic of beliefs, a philosophy of how one should work every single day.
The following are some safety organizations we are involved with:
Alberta Construction Safety Association
We have been a member in good standing of the Alberta Construction Safety Association since 1997.
Every year our entire company undergoes a comprehensive safety audit, and we hold, in good standing, a current COR (Certificate of Recognition) on Safety with the Alberta Construction Safety Association.
ISNetworld
ISNetworld is a global resource for connecting corporations with safe, reliable contractors in capital-intensive industries.
ISN collects conformance information from contractors/suppliers, verifies its accuracy, and then reports the results.
Through its innovative data-systems, superior customer service, and global reach, ISN fosters safer work environments, and stronger partnerships.
We are a proud member of ISNetworld.
Long History of Safety
We have a long history of promoting safety. Here are just a few examples of how we feel all companies in our industry should operate:
Ever since the 1970's the tops of our truck hoods have been flat black, to reduce driver sun glare.
For many years we have included sand in the paint on equipment hand holds to improve operator grip.
To prevent material from blowing out of the truck boxes, we tarp all of our box loads (many people believe that this is the law - its not, most of our competitors don't do this) .
When cell phones are out of range, employees can use Satellite Phones when working alone and at remote locations.
Work Safe Alberta Award
Recently, we were awarded a special safety award in our class of industry by the Province of Alberta called a Work Safe Alberta "Best Safety Performer Award".
There were only 700 companies that received this award (out of 140 thousand in Alberta), and Reco was one of only two in its category in Grande Prairie.

Our Safety Program
is Rooted in Theory
Our Safety Program traces its roots to the theories of Professor Laird A. Wilson, one of the worlds most foremost authorities on Safety and Loss Management.
We are also indebted to the Alberta Construction Safety Association for assisting us in developing our Safety Program.
Our Safety Manual
Part of our Safety Program includes a comprehensive Safety Manual which contains Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for virtually all of the major tasks that we perform.
